Junya Nitta, CEO
After graduating with a degree in environmental engineering from Osaka University, he studied for a Masters in civil and environmental engineering (M.Eng.) at the University of California, Berkeley. Upon returning to Japan, he spent five years working as an engineer before deciding to change careers and become a translator. He spent six years working at a patent firm during which time he encountered and became captivated by macros and programming.
He set up his own company NIT Inc. in October 2011, and spends his time translating patents, giving Word and macro related seminars, and writing macros, many of which he publishes on his blog, "Word Macros for Everyone". In 2012 he wrote a series of articles on macros for ALC’s “Honyaku Tsuyaku no Tobira”. His software includes "Iro de Check" for checking translations, "Right-Click to Google" for advanced web searching from Word, and "Para Para", a program designed for translators who type over the source text.
Since October 2011 he has been awarded the title “Microsoft MVP for Word” (MVP: Most Valuable Professional), an accolade awarded to only 22 individuals worldwide.
Junya enjoys programming from a translator's perspective, with a particular focus on macros for patent translators.
